I’m the Bird Man, Bug Boy, film making short guy that loves to create some cool shit.
But you can just call me Finn. Finn Davey... Cause that’s my name, duh.

As far back as I remember, I've always had a passion for science, the natural world and story telling. As you can probably guess, David Attenborough was a big hero of mine growing up.
​
For so many years I was focused on a career in conservation, with the ultimate goal of working for DoC. Out in the bush protecting native wildlife. But in my last two years of college (high school if you're American), I fell in love with the art of film making. The interest was always there, I just didn't explore it properly until Year 12. Looking back at games my friends and I would make up and play in primary school, I guess that story telling and overarching narratives side of me has always been there and is only now I'm truly realising it. So now my ultimate career goal is to become a writer-director and bring my stories, creatures and characters to cinema screens across the world!

While film making is my career of choice, I have many hobbies that I've been doing for a number of years so felt like I had to include them in this portfolio. Wildlife photography is one of my favourites, spending time in nature and surrounded by birds is just wonderful. I've learnt so much about the natural world by simply existing in it and watching quietly, snapping some precious moments with my trusty camera and sharing it with others online.
